Niobium

Niobium is a rare and precious metal.  It is also light weight, strong and hypoallergenic.  It will not tarnish over time, however, oil and other substances from skin and products can make the colours look less vibrant.  Niobium can be easily cleaned in warm soapy water with a soft cloth or tooth brush.  

Anodisation creates a layer of transparent surface oxide.  Light refracts and reflects through the oxide to create 'interference colours'.  Wavelengths of light are cancelled out, leaving the colours you see - blues, greens, yellows, pinks and purples - and all the colours in between.  It is important to not use abrasives on niobium as these will affect the layer of oxide.  

Silver

Silver is a natural metal and naturally tarnishes over time.  Tarnish can be removed by using a silver polishing cloth on the surface of the silver.  Items that are entirely silver can be dipped in silver dip.  However, silver dip cannot be used when the item has mixed materials such as niobium or vermeil as the dip may affect the colour.  Silver can also be cleaned in warm soapy water with a soft cloth or tooth brush.  It is recommended to store silver in a dry, air tight container or in acid free tissue paper.

General care

It is best to avoid wearing niobium jewellery while exercising, swimming, cleaning or any activity where it is likely to get dirty or damaged.

Any items received damaged will be repaired free of charge in accordance with the Delivery & Returns policy.
